LaCeda Nelson

LaCeda Nelson, a native of Tampa, FL, attended Howard W. Blake, the first performing arts high school in Tampa. She later graduated from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA with a BFA in dance education. Laceda’s work, “Urban Voodoo”, was accepted as a student piece for presentation in the Choreographers Corner held in Atlanta, GA, and as a performer, she has learned from and worked with such choreographers as Lula Washington, Nathan Trice, Milton Myers, Kim Bears-Bailey, Ronald K. Brown, Gary Jeter, Christopher Huggins and Shawn-Lamere Williams.┬áLaceda appeared on the ABC After-School Special, I Used to Dance, and performed at the Super Bowl. LaCeda received a full scholarship to Jacob’s Pillow, and she is a co-founder of DCNS Summer Dance Intensive. In addition, she has performed as a principal dancer with Eleone Dance Theater and is a member of Collaboration Works. She has taught at Triplett Dance Academy since 2006.
